Life without coffee is depresso. Keep a jar of this at home and you'll never go without again. Three ingredients, mixed once, stored in a jar. Then it's just hot water and a frother between you and a proper oat milk latte. Made with Overherd. Serve over ice if you're that way inclined.

Ingredients
For the latte powder 200g Overherd oat milk powder 8 tsp finely ground instant coffee e.g. Nescafe Azera 25g coconut sugar (50g if you prefer it sweeter) Per serving 35g latte powder (approx. 3 heaped tbsp) 200ml waterMethod
Make the powder
1 Add all powder ingredients to a bowl and mix thoroughly until fully combined.
2 Transfer to a jar with a lid. Keeps for up to 9 months in a cool, dry place.
To make one serving
3 Add 35g (approx. 3 heaped tablespoons) of latte powder to a mug.
4 Add 200ml of hot water and stir thoroughly. If using a milk frother to get the best result, use a smaller amount of 50ml first to avoid scalding and then top up with remaining hot water once frothed.
5 Or dissolve in a small amount of hot water and pour over ice for a frozen latte.
Tips
Use a frother A handheld electric frother dissolves the powder fully and creates a foam on top. Without one, stir vigorously for at least 30 seconds. A small whisk also works well.
Adjust the sugar to taste The recipe gives a range of 50 - 100g coconut sugar for the batch. Start at 50g and increase if you prefer a sweeter latte. You can always add more but can't take it out.
Stronger coffee Increase to 10 - 12 tsp of instant coffee across the batch for a bolder, more intense result. Good if you usually take your coffee strong.

Serving suggestions
01 Hot latte The standard. Hot water, frother, done. As close to a coffee shop oat milk latte as you'll get from a jar on your shelf.
02 Frappucino Add ice to blender and use ice crush setting or blitz until crushed. Add the powder and water and blitz until thick, frozen, and creamy. You need a big boba-style straw for slurpin!
03 Gifting Jar it up with a label and serving instructions. A genuinely useful homemade gift for anyone who drinks coffee.
04 With breakfast Ready in under 2 minutes, which means it actually happens on a weekday morning. Pairs well with porridge, toast, or nothing at all.
05 Coffee alternatives Better than instant coffee, try instead: chicory cup, barley cup, or another powdered coffee alternative!
Variations
Vanilla latte Add ½ tsp vanilla powder to the batch mix. Rounds out the coffee flavour and makes it taste more like a coffee shop order.
Mocha latte Add 2 tbsp cocoa powder to the batch. Chocolate and coffee in a jar. Reduce the coconut sugar slightly to balance the bitterness.
Spiced latte Add ½ tsp cinnamon and a pinch of cardamom to the batch for a chai-spiced coffee. Good hot or over ice.
Stronger brew Increase instant coffee to 10 - 12 tsp across the batch and reduce coconut sugar slightly. For people who take their coffee seriously.
