However there is no coconut taste and the flavour is very much oat!

Overherd contains no added sugar.

There is some natural sugars within the oats, but in small quantities.

A 100ml serving of Overherd contains just 1.4g of sugar. This is 59% less than the leading oat milk brand and over 70% less than cow's milk.

We don't currently offer a zero sugar version, primarily because regular Overherd is already so low in sugar.

NO! Overherd contains zero sweeteners or flavourings!

The natural sweetness & flavour comes from the mighty oat. Now you can see why we love them so much.

Overherd oat milk is also low in sugar and contains just 1.4g per 100ml. That's 60% less than the leading brand of oat milk and over 70% less than cow's milk!

Other brands may use thickening agents like Gellan Gum. Not here!

Yes! Overherd is 100% vegan & plant based.

Good question! Almost all of the saturated fat content in Overherd comes from coconut MCT fats, which is short for medium chain triglycerides.

Although these fats are classed as saturated, they are generally considered to be one of the healthiest fats out there!

MCT fats have been shown to promote weight loss, provide energy throughout the day, and improve brain health.

But don't take our word for it, a quick Google search will tell you more about this superfood.

We add a small amount of chicory root fibre to Overherd and this is to give it a lovely smooth texture.

But it also has some great health benefits...

Chicory root is a prebiotic fibre powerhouse and makes Overherd higher in fibre vs. other oat milk brands.

We only use organic oats to make Overherd oat milk, this is because glyphosates and pesticides are commonly used in non-organic oat production.

However we also add coconut and chicory root fibre which are not from organic cultivation, so we can't classify Overherd as 100% organic, even though the vast majority of it is made with organic ingredients.

You might be wondering what is MCT powder?

MCT is a wonderfully creamy superfood that we add to our oat milk powder.

MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides, it sounds fancy but it's basically the healthiest type of fats extracted from coconuts.

Whilst most other oat milk brands use refined oils like rapeseed, we use cold pressed coconut MCTs instead.

Yes it's more expensive but we think it's worth it as it's delicious and creamy and has a host of health benefits.

We use cyanocobalamin as our source of vitamin B12 due to it's stability and shelf life.

If only it was this simple!

Oat flour (a.k.a powdered oats) is naturally insoluble and so when mixed with water will create more of a porridge consistency drink.

We use natural fermentation to convert the insoluble starch in the oats into soluble carbohydrates so you end up with a lovely smooth oat milk (this is how all oat milk is made).

We then add a little bit of coconut for creaminess and some chicory root for smoothness.

Finally we add calcium and vitamin B12 for fortification.

No, we don't add any iodine to Overherd oat milk powder.

Usage & preparation

Overherd can be stored for over 12 months unopened thanks to it's naturally long shelf life, without ANY preservatives (magic right?).

Once opened, it' best consumed within 6 months and make sure to always seal when not in use.

For the exact use by date, please check the back of your pouch.

Use Overherd for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you would usually use dairy or plant milk for.

We're talking smoothies, baking, porridge, overnight oats, hot drinks, cereal, cooking, protein shakes, you name it!

Oh & yes, it can also be stirred straight into hot drinks directly as a plant based creamer.

Here's a list of some things you can use Overherd for!

Our larger 800g pouch makes 8 litres of oat milk.

Our smaller 400g pouch makes 4 litres of oat milk.

So you won't be running out of oat milk anytime soon, unless you are a "cereal" consumer...

YES! Just use a teaspoon to stir Overherd oat milk powder straght into your tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc.

Some people prefer to mix it with water first, others like to add it straight to hot drinks.

Overherd wasn't specifically designed as a barista oat milk, so may not froth quite as well as specialist barista milks.

However, depending on the frother it can produce a good level of froth for hot drinks and can also steam well.

It depends how creamy you like it!

Generally, we recommend adding 10g of oat milk powder for every 100ml of water, but you can use more or less depending on your preference.

Our handy scoops hold 20g of oat milk powder and a teaspoon is approximately 4g.

Yes! Overherd can be stirred straight into hot drinks. The perfect plant based creamer.

It mixes better than gin and tonic on a summer day. Well... not quite... but you get the message.

No! A good shake by hand does the job and creates a lovely smooth oat milk.

If you want to go the extra mile and blend it, that's also fine!

You can also add Overherd oat milk powder directly into hot drinks, soups, sauces, smoothies etc.

Once mixed up you should store your oat milk in an airtight bottle in the fridge.

As with anything we recommend using it as fresh as possible as we don't use any preservatives.

It's good for up to 3 days in the fridge.

Yes! Both the lid and bottle are dishwasher safe.

We recommend periodically cleaning your bottle's lid as it will help keep your oat milk fresher for longer.

Just follow these instructions:

1) Use a cocktail stick or similar to remove the rubber seal from inside the lid.

2) Clean the seal in warm and soapy water, then allow to dry.

3) Use a scrunched up tissue to clean debris inside the lid (where the rubber seal usually sits).

4) Place the rubber seal back into the lid, and screw the lid back on the bottle to fasten it into place.

When not in use, you can store your Overherd oat milk powder in a sealed pouch or airtight container. It should be stored in a dry and cool place like a cupboard.

Once mixed with water, store the oat milk in the fridge using a clean and airtight bottle. Making sure your bottle is clean is important for keeping the oat milk fresher for longer.

No! Simply add Overherd to water and shake by hand until it's silky smooth.

We recommend only filling your bottle up halfway when mixing your Overherd. You can then top it up with water and give it a final shake.

If the bottle is too full it can prevent proper mixing.

Sustainability & values

We chose to use lightweight and recyclable LDPE for our pouches.

They use 10x less packaging material vs. Tetra Paks and are printed using carbon neutral methods.

After much consideration, we believe this to be the most sustainable option currently available – feel free to check out why we think so here.

But we are always open to new ideas, so let us know if you disagree.

Yes! We're a small team based in the UK and 100% independent.

Please check if your local council recycles LDPE. If your council offers kerbside recycling of LDPE simply place in your collection bin with other recyclable plastics.

If your council doesn't recycle LDPE, then you can take any empty pouches to a collection point which can be found at most supermarkets. The Recycle Now website can help you find a collection point, simply enter your postcode to find your nearest

More information about our pouch recycling can be found here.

Yes! We are based in Yorkshire and proud to say our oat milk powder is made in the UK.

Never! We never use any GMO ingredients! In fact, we only use gluten free and organic oats.

Our oats are currently grown in Europe, but we are working on sourcing British oats in the when we can.

We only use gluten free and organic oats so we can be a bit picky!

No we use cardboard postal boxes, paper tape and scrap paper to protect your items.

It does require energy to dehydrate our delicious oat milk into a convenient powder.

However this is significantly outweighed by the energy savings from:

1) Transport emissions - as it’s 10x lighter and more compact, which means 10x fewer trucks to get it from A to B.

2) Packaging emissions - our pouches use 90% less packaging vs Tetra Pak cartons and with no use of solvents. This consequently means less CO2 emissions.

The total CO2 savings is in the 25-30% region, and this doesn’t include CO2 savings from food waste. 1 in 6 pints pints of liquid milk are thrown away in the UK each year.

Overherd on the other hand has a naturally long shelf, and you only use exactly what you need, so it's virtually zero waste.

Overherd is cruelty free and we take this seriously ensuring all of our suppliers follow this policy.

Yes - Overherd is available in a a growing number of refill stores in the UK, the list of which can be found here.
